I was inspired to start this piece soon after the mass shooting at Uvalde Elementary School Shooting in May of 2022.  Starting with an Op-Ed piece from the Washington Post and continuing by keeping a log of mass shootings since 1999, I am trying to capture the humanity of lives lost in the US due to mas shootings.
